Attorney Marc E. Verzani
focuses on real estate and general business
law.
Prior to opening his own practice, Mr. Verzani worked at two Boston law
firms and a former partner in Manhattan based firm. Mr. Verzani has handled
numerous litigation matters and real estate transactions, representing
individuals, developers, corporations, landlords, small businesses,
institutional lenders, and inventors.
Mr. Verzani was born in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from New York
University in 1988 with a degree in Mathematics, Mr. Verzani worked as a
pension actuary in New York City. In 1990 he moved to Seattle and operated
his own construction/ remodeling company and worked on both residential and
commercial projects. Mr. Verzani worked his way through Boston College Law
School, from which he graduated in 1995, as a contractor; while attending
law school he was invited to join the school's $30 million renovation
project. While at NYU, Mr. Verzani spent a summer working for American
Express in Istanbul; he is conversant in Turkish and Italian.
Mr. Verzani has given lectures to property managers and builders
associations on such subjects as premises liability, remodeling, and lead
paint. He has given a presentation to lawyers for the Massachusetts
Continuing Legal Education entitled "Streamlining the Legal Internet" and a
guest speaker to first time home buyers for "Home buying in a Nutshell" at
Boston Center for Adult Education. He has ghost-written articles for
Massachusetts Lawyer Weekly, as well as for portions of the Massachusetts
Procedure Series on Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has been published in
the Journal of Patents and Trademarks relating to designs for handicapped
individuals, and he has co-authored articles for local construction trade
associations.
Mr. Verzani is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts, the State of New York and is a member of the Massachusetts
and New York Bar Associations. For several years he was general counsel to
the New Repertory Theater, a professional non-profit theater located in
Newton, Massachusetts, as well as an active board member to Linden Hill
School, Northfield, MA. He is also a former member of the board of directors
of WCI,Inc., a non-profit organization that provides housing and services to
disabled individuals; a past member of the Brighton Main Streets Design
Review Committee; as well as Builders Association of Greater Boston.
Mr. Verzani's family has a long history of practicing law amounting to over
185 years of law practice. His grandfather, father, mother, brother, aunt
and uncle are all attorneys. Mr. Verzani lives in Scarsdale, New York with
his wife and three children.
